Terms and Conditions
Spin Lotto Uganda
1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern participation in Spin Lotto Uganda (the "Promotion"), a promotional games platform comprising three distinct games: Spin & Win, Scratch & Win, and Trivia (each a "Game" and together the "Games"). By entering or participating in any Game, each participant ("Participant") agrees to be bound by these Terms, the game-specific rules set out below, and any other instructions, rules, or guidelines published by the Promoter in relation to Spin Lotto Uganda.
Participants should read these Terms carefully before participating, as each Game operates on a different basis: Spin & Win and Scratch & Win are games of chance involving a randomised, pre-generated prize allocation, while Trivia is a knowledge-based competition in which outcomes depend on the Participant's correct answers within a set time.
2. Promoter and Regulatory Status
Spin Lotto Uganda is promoted and operated by East Atlantic Telecommunications Ltd, trading as "East Atlantic Telecoms" ("the Promoter", "we", "us", or "our"), or its duly appointed partner, agent, or service provider for the Uganda campaign.
Spin Lotto Uganda operates under the applicable laws of Uganda governing lotteries, gaming, and promotional competitions, including the Lotteries and Gaming Act, 2016 and its regulations, and is subject to the oversight of the National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board ("the Board" or "NLGRB").
3. Definitions
- "Game of Chance" means Spin & Win and/or Scratch & Win, being Games whose winning outcomes are randomised and securely generated, together with the applicable prize pool, prior to commencement of the Promotion and loaded into the Promoter's system. Outcomes are allocated to each valid entry in sequence from this pre-generated allocation, rather than generated live by a Random Number Generator ("RNG") at the point of entry.
- "Skill-Based Game" means Trivia, being a Game whose outcome depends materially on the Participant's knowledge, correct answers, and completion within the permitted time, subject only to limited system randomisation described in Clause 9.
- "Reward Cycle" means the daily (or other stated) period within which entries are pooled and rewards allocated for a given Game.
- "Approved Channel" means any SMS, USSD, web, mobile application, or other participation channel authorised by the Promoter for entry into a Game.
4. Eligibility
Participation in Spin Lotto Uganda, and in each Game individually, is open only to persons who:
- are 18 years of age or older;
- are legally resident in Uganda or otherwise eligible to participate in Uganda;
- complete entry through an Approved Channel; and
- comply fully with these Terms and any game-specific rules.
Employees, contractors, agents, affiliates, and immediate family members of the Promoter, or of any party directly involved in the administration of the Games, may be restricted from participation where required for integrity, compliance, or conflict-of-interest reasons.
5. Promotional Period
Spin Lotto Uganda shall run from 20th July 2026 to 19th July 2027, as published in the approved campaign materials and application records held with the Board. Individual Games may be launched, run, or withdrawn at different times within the overall Promotional Period, as published by the Promoter. Entries received outside the applicable period for a Game shall not be valid unless otherwise expressly stated by the Promoter and approved where required.
6. Description of the Games
Spin Lotto Uganda comprises three separate Games, each with its own mechanics, entry requirements, and basis for winning. A Participant may take part in one, some, or all of the Games, subject to eligibility and any applicable entry limits.
6.1 Spin & Win (Game of Chance)
Spin & Win is a game of chance in which an eligible Participant, having entered through an Approved Channel, triggers a virtual spin. Prior to commencement of the Promotion, the approved airtime prize pool and winning outcomes for Spin & Win are securely generated and loaded into the Promoter's system. When a Participant plays, the system allocates the next available outcome from this pre-generated allocation. The spin animation shown to the Participant is a visual representation of the outcome already allocated by the system and does not itself determine the result. The Participant exercises no skill or judgement capable of influencing the outcome; the Participant's role is limited to initiating a valid, eligible entry.
6.2 Scratch & Win (Game of Chance)
Scratch & Win is a game of chance in which an eligible Participant, having entered through an Approved Channel, reveals a virtual scratch card. As with Spin & Win, the approved airtime prize pool and winning outcomes for Scratch & Win are securely generated and loaded into the Promoter's system prior to commencement of the Promotion. When a Participant plays, the system allocates the next available outcome from this pre-generated allocation, which the scratch card animation reveals. The animation does not itself determine the result. The Participant exercises no skill or judgement capable of influencing the outcome.
6.3 Trivia (Skill-Based Competition)
Trivia is a knowledge-based promotional competition. An eligible Participant who enters through an Approved Channel is presented with 5 (five) multiple-choice questions, drawn from an approved question bank, which must be answered within 3 (three) minutes. To qualify for reward consideration under Trivia, a Participant must correctly answer all 5 (five) questions, complete the quiz within the allotted time, participate validly, and comply with these Terms. Save for the limited system randomisation described in Clause 9 (such as the order in which questions or answer options are presented), the outcome of Trivia is determined by the Participant's knowledge and performance, not by chance.
The Promoter shall ensure that promotional and marketing materials for each Game accurately reflect the mechanics, prize structure, and chance or skill basis of that Game, and shall not represent Trivia in a manner that emphasises chance-based mechanics associated with Spin & Win or Scratch & Win.
7. Approved Channels of Participation
Participants may enter a Game through Approved Channels made available by the Promoter, which may include SMS, USSD, a web portal, a mobile application, or any other approved digital participation channel. The Promoter reserves the right to activate, suspend, vary, or limit any participation channel where necessary for operational, technical, legal, or regulatory reasons.
8. Entry Fee
Participation in a Game shall be subject to the entry fee published by the Promoter for that Game. The applicable entry fee for each Game shall be as stated in the official promotional materials and, where applicable, the participant's mobile network operator terms. Different Games may carry different entry fees, which shall be clearly disclosed to the Participant before payment or opt-in.
9. Entry Process and Use of Randomisation
To participate in any Game, an eligible Participant must access the Game through an Approved Channel, successfully complete the required opt-in, confirmation, or payment step, and receive access to the Game session. Only entries successfully received and recorded by the Promoter's system shall be valid.
For Spin & Win and Scratch & Win, the applicable prize pool and winning outcomes are securely generated and loaded into the Promoter's system prior to commencement of the Promotion, in accordance with the approved prize structure held on record with the Board. Each valid entry is allocated the next available outcome from this pre-generated allocation; no live Random Number Generator ("RNG") is used at the point of entry.
For Trivia, the Participant must correctly answer all 5 multiple-choice questions within 3 minutes to qualify for reward consideration. The Promoter may use controlled system randomisation for limited operational purposes only, such as random presentation of questions from the approved question bank or random sequencing of answer options, so as to ensure fair distribution of question sets across Participants. Such randomisation does not override the skill element of Trivia; a Participant must still answer correctly and complete the quiz within time to qualify.
10. Number of Entries
Each Participant must comply with the published minimum and maximum entry limits applicable to each Game. The Promoter reserves the right to reject, suspend, or invalidate entries that exceed the approved entry limits or appear abusive, fraudulent, or system-generated.
11. Winner Determination
Winners of Spin & Win and Scratch & Win shall be determined by the outcome allocated to their entry from the pre-generated prize allocation loaded into the Promoter's system prior to commencement of the Promotion, in accordance with the approved prize structure held on record with the Board.
Winners of Trivia shall be determined in two stages: (i) Qualification: the Participant must correctly answer all 5 (five) questions and complete the quiz within the allotted 3 (three) minutes; and (ii) Reward Allocation: qualified Participants become eligible for reward allocation from the pre-generated airtime prize pool, subject to valid participation through the approved system and compliance with these Terms.
The Promoter's system records shall form the primary basis for determining whether an entry is valid and whether a Participant qualifies as a winner under any Game.
12. Prizes
Each Game offers airtime rewards only. No cash prizes shall be offered under any Game. The nature and maximum value of prizes available under each Game shall be as approved by the Board and shall be accurately and clearly stated in promotional materials for that Game, without overstating the value or likelihood of winning.
Each Game operates on a pool-based reward structure, with a total prize value for the applicable promotion period as approved by the Board and published for each Game. Rewards shall be allocated on a daily cycle (or such other cycle as approved), with a daily prize pool as approved by the Board for that Game.
Where more than one Participant qualifies in a Reward Cycle for a Game, the applicable daily prize pool for that Game shall be shared equally among all qualified winners for that cycle. The reward value payable to each qualified winner shall be determined by dividing the applicable daily prize pool by the total number of qualified winners for that cycle.
13. Prize Notification
Winners may be notified through SMS, call, email, web notification, app notification, or any other approved communication method linked to the Participant's entry profile or account.
14. Prize Claim and Verification
Before any reward is fulfilled, the winner must complete verification to the satisfaction of the Promoter. Verification may include name confirmation, mobile number confirmation, transaction or ticket reference confirmation, date and time of participation, game result confirmation, valid government-issued identification where required, and any additional compliance or fraud-prevention checks. Failure to complete verification may result in withholding, cancellation, or forfeiture of the reward. Full details of the claim process are set out in the Promoter's published Prize Claiming Procedure.
15. Prize Fulfilment
All winning rewards shall be fulfilled through airtime credit to the winner's eligible and verified mobile line or other approved account linked to the promotion, subject to successful validation. No cash payment shall be made under any Game.
16. Invalid, Rejected, or Disqualified Entries
The Promoter may reject, suspend, or disqualify any entry or Participant where:
- the Participant is below 18 years;
- entry details are false, incomplete, or misleading;
- there is suspected fraud or collusion;
- multiple-account abuse is detected;
- the entry was not properly completed or recorded;
- the Participant breaches these Terms; or
- there is system manipulation or unlawful conduct.
17. Fraud and Abuse
The Promoter reserves the right to investigate suspicious participation patterns, unusual entry behaviour, suspected automation, duplicate account activity, identity manipulation, or any conduct that threatens the integrity of any Game. Pending investigation, the Promoter may suspend access, withhold reward fulfilment, or invalidate entries where reasonably necessary.
18. System Availability
The Promoter shall use reasonable efforts to ensure availability of the Games platform, but shall not be liable for network failure, delayed SMS or USSD response, app or browser incompatibility, internet disruption, user device malfunction, or downtime caused by maintenance, third-party systems, or force majeure. The Promoter may suspend, modify, or terminate any Game where necessary due to technical, legal, operational, or regulatory reasons.
19. No Guarantee of Winning
Payment of an entry fee, initiation of a spin or scratch, or successful completion of a Trivia quiz does not automatically guarantee winning. Winning depends on the pre-generated prize allocation outcome assigned to the entry (for Spin & Win and Scratch & Win) or compliance with the qualifying criteria, including correctly answering all five questions within the allotted time (for Trivia), as applicable.
20. Responsible Gaming
The Promoter is committed to promoting responsible participation in Spin & Win and Scratch & Win. Participants are encouraged to play within their means, to treat participation as entertainment rather than a source of income, and to seek support if they feel their participation is becoming problematic.
The Promoter shall provide Participants with access to information on responsible gaming, including how to self-exclude from Spin & Win and Scratch & Win, and shall display the minimum age requirement and relevant responsible-gaming messaging on promotional materials and Approved Channels in accordance with Board requirements.
21. Publicity
By accepting a reward, a winner may be required, where lawful and reasonable, to participate in limited prize-related publicity, announcement, verification, or promotional confirmation without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law or otherwise agreed by the Promoter.
22. Data Use and Privacy
By participating in any Game, Participants consent to the collection, processing, storage, and use of their personal data for the purposes of competition administration, participant verification, fraud prevention, reward fulfilment, customer support, regulatory compliance, and lawful promotional communication related to Spin Lotto Uganda. All personal data shall be handled in accordance with the Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019 and the Promoter's Privacy Policy, published separately and incorporated into these Terms by reference.
23. Regulatory and Compliance Conditions
Where required by law or regulatory directive, the Promoter reserves the right to apply any mandatory compliance condition before releasing any airtime reward, and to amend any Game's mechanics, prize structure, or promotional materials as directed by the Board.
24. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Promoter shall not be liable for failed or delayed entries due to user error or network issues, unsuccessful participation caused by incorrect user details, reward fulfilment delays arising from incorrect account information, losses resulting from unauthorised use of a Participant's device or account, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from participation in any Game. Nothing in these Terms shall exclude liability where such exclusion is unlawful.
25. Right to Amend
The Promoter reserves the right, subject to applicable law and regulatory approval where required, to amend, suspend, terminate, or vary these Terms, the reward structure, or the mechanics of any Game for legitimate legal, operational, commercial, or technical reasons.
26. Complaints and Disputes
Any complaint, dispute, or enquiry relating to any Game shall first be submitted to the Promoter through the designated support channel within the stated complaint period. The Promoter shall review and respond in accordance with its internal complaints procedure and applicable regulatory requirements. Unresolved complaints may be escalated to the National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board.
27. Governing Law
Spin Lotto Uganda and these Terms shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda, including the Lotteries and Gaming Act, 2016, the Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019, and any regulations, directives, or conditions issued by the National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board, together with the approved campaign rules for each Game.
28. Acceptance
Participation in any Game under Spin Lotto Uganda constitutes full acceptance of these Terms.
